Ultrasound/Radiology Services
La Bella Fleur Healthcare Center, Inc offers ultrasound to check on the health of your baby and detect certain pregnancy complications. Our Healthcare Center provides monthly ultrasounds until the 8 month of pregnancy and then more frequently until delivery.
Our Obstetricians, Nurse Midwife, or Ultrasound Technician perform ultrasounds during pregnancy for many reasons. Ultrasounds are one of the few ways the provider can see and hear your baby. It determines how far along you are in pregnancy, if your baby is growing properly, or if there are any potential problems with the pregnancy.
La Bella Fleur Healthcare’s goal is to ensure that we give the pregnant mom and non-pregnant female the best care. For non-pregnant mothers we use ultrasound to visualize and examine the pelvic organs, specifically her uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and vagina. An ultrasound can help to diagnose the following conditions: endometriosis, ovarian cysts, Uterine fibroids, blockages, in the fallopian tubes, and other abnormalities in the uterus.

“Maternal depression and other perinatal mood disorders are linked to risk factors for maternal mortality and morbidity. . .Mood disorders are prevalent among new mothers, particularly women of color who grapple with myriad stressors, including racism.”(American Progress, 2019). Although, the prevalence of mood disorders are known in women of color, the Prescence of mental health can exist in any race. La Bella Fleur want to ensure that all women are able to receive mental health therapy if is needed.

The evaluation also allows the pregnant mother to receive services after delivery, such as: postpartum/bereavement services.
Diagnostic Laboratory
La Bella Fleur offers laboratory screening to determine the risk of the fetus having certain birth defects. Diagnostic testing is also performed for the pregnant mother to determine things like: fatty liver, pre-eclampsia, and any other elevated labs.
First trimester screening is a combination of maternal serum (blood) tests such as: pregnancy-associated plasma protein and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. When used together as first trimester screening tests, nuchal translucency screening and maternal blood tests have a greater ability to determine if the fetus might have a birth defect, such as Down Syndrome (trisomy 21) and trisomy 18.
Second Trimester prenatal screening may include several blood tests called multiple markers. These markers provide information about your potential risk of having a baby with certain genetic conditions or birth defects. These screenings typically are completed between 15 and 20 weeks of pregnancy and ideally between 16 to 18 weeks. These markers include: AFP Screening, Estriol, Inhibin, and HCG.
